In our more morbid moments, the wife and I like to discuss what tunes we’d like to be played at our funerals. Caught somewhere between Death Cab For Cutie and The Smiths, I am a little less decisive than my other half, who has firmly set her sights in Primal Scream’s gospel affair, ‘Moving On Up‘.
For the past six months, it’s become apparent that our Jesus beer has gained in popularity. So much so, we’ve struggled to keep up with the demand from consumers and retailers alike.
What started off as a hobby and a ‘side business’ (believe me, there is no such thing) has spawned into a monster that is bursting out of our cellar and whose tentacles take over nearly every room in our house, not to mention our inordinately small freezer, which now has a shelf dedicated to hops.
There has been a continued need to upscale since we started and, in particular, since we gained momentum.
Well, having worked out the fine print, we’re pleased to announce that from Monday the wonderful folk at The Sheffield Brewery Company will be allowing us to use their pilot brewing system, meaning we’ll be able to make and supply more beer.
The Sheffield Brewery Company was established in 2006 and are based in a beautiful Victorian built factory a stone’s throw from the River Don. Their award winning beers include Crucible Best, Forgemasters and the deliciously dark Sheffield Porter. We are eternally grateful to Pete, Tim and the team for accommodating us within their space.
It’s hard to believe that our journey started in our kitchen one cold January night with the smell of malted barley wafting through the streets of Walkley. We were pretty much shooting for the moon… and still are!
We know there’s much further to go, more beer to brew, and plenty of mistakes to make and learn from. But for now, we’re moving on up.
Thank you so much for your interest in and support with this venture. Look out for more beer coming your way soon!
